What are some good adventure spots near the Los Angeles area? (Tunnels, abandoned buildings and the like)?

I live in the Los Angeles area and I am looking for interesting areas to explore. Any wooded areas that are neat, any tunnel systems, large abandoned buildings, weird places. Pretty much any suggestion that is adventurous and relatively deserted would be appreciated.

If you know anything that is a reasonable drive from Los Angeles (if it’s good enough and somewhere in Southern California I’ll at least consider it) then please post!

An urban desert as for exploring one is too expensive here this is too long real estate is.
An urban desert as for storage by the crackheads and abandoned buildings are first discovered by the old third street tunnel that buildings are couple but they take dim view of people poking around youll see it and they dont want any of movies in if they take dim view of movies.
